After falling (way) short of the necessary votes needed to get into the Hall of Fame, Sammy Sosa released a statement aimed at silencing critics who contend he used steroids as a player. Claiming he was never proven to have taken ‘roids (although the New York Times reported he failed a test in 2003), he said he and other stars of the “steroid era” who did not get voted in are, “still winners” and that there is always a “next time”.
Oh, and he released it in a press release from the new company he manages called “Injex 21”, a company that specializes in needleless drug injections.
