What Sucks…The Twitter Death Announcement

BLOG NOTE: I may be playing a little catch up here and there with some stuff I missed over the past few days....

Is this what its come down to? You live your life to the fullest and when you die someone will Tweet your death?

Is a life that can be summed up in 140 characters worth living? And, hey Ashton Kutcher, when mourning the death of an ex-girlfriend who you did a movie or two with, can we not abbreviate as much?

Come on, human race- we can do better!

I think that's very nice. People express sorrow through whatever means are available. The intent is clearly a good one, so praise the intent, and who cares about the means. It's certainly no different from an obituary in the paper. And it's free. If I die, I'd far rather people announce it through free media than spend what newspapers charge for running an obit.

I think it's all about the heart, not the venue.
