What Sucks…This Whole Susan Boyle Thing

So, we’re all gonna sit back and pretend that this little video that everyone’s posting to their Facebook feed is just a heart warming tale of an underdog triumphing over the odds and ignore the fact that a woman walked out in front of an entire arena of judgmental “C” words and douchebags?

Here’s the headline that should be running:

If people didn’t suck so bad, this woman would have walked out, NOT been dismissively greeted, sung and then been praised for the quality of her singing voice directly- and not via 3 “judges” telling her how surprised they are that she didn’t have poop come out of her mouth.

So yeah, feel good about your video, douchenuts your suckiness made it happen!

Pop this "Boyle!"

I think people are amazed not by her talent but by the interminably large contrast between her slightly above-average talent and her drab visage and nutty, cat-lady personality. When she speaks, I understand maybe 1/2 of her fidgeting gibberish. Sure, dress her up nice and with a new do, keep her singing heard but mumbly rants silent, and she'll maybe sell some phony Latin, New Age "opera" CDs.

umm...im sorry but..HAS EVERYONE GONE DEF??? SHES NOT THAT GOOD!shes bearable...like..shes better than we expected... but shes not amazing! i mean seriously! and why would you ever pick that song!? why would you ever sing that song outside of Les Miserables!? is she retarded?! that song is sacred to the musical itself...you dont sing it for a pop artist competition...retard.

Sorry - I know something about singing - having studied it seriously. The woman is technically very skilled. People like her voice because they're hearing quality.

her range is nothing out of the ordinary... anyone taking voice lessons could sing that song with as much quality as her (given that they arent pitch def or something). she definately doesnt deserve all that hype for such average talent.

People are hearing quality? And since when do the masses know anything about quality? Her range is bad and most people have a tin ear. People also love to jump on the next thing or whatever the media pushes hard. Soon there will be another next thing that will most likely also lack quality and be praised by those with tin ears.

msc, I know something about singing too since I have studied different types of singing and music, and listen to a wide variety of it. Her voice is great fer sure but she is overhyped.

Is she is one of those "savants" (sic?) they show on TV with a special talent for singing? Just curious.

She does indeed suck, compared to trained people who can really sing. She certainly can't perform. She's got a good voice for an amateur, but not good enough for recording contracts. This whole thing has been manufactured to make the producers of "Britain's Got Talent" even richer than they already are.

This goes for Paul Potts, too. I heard him on the CBC (why on earth the CBC decided to broadcast this modestly talented singer when Canada is thronged with great tenors is another thing that sucks) -- the man does not sing very well.

Pity, but there it is. The whole phenomenon seems to devalue those who actually do have talent. I was glad Diversity won ... :)

Haha, it's great seeing all these people who agree with me. I have a YouTube video where I talk about her (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1yBay4Kp4Y) She is getting way to much fame and glory from this and it all seems to have gone to her head making her think that she is better than everyone else, I hate it!

Everyone here is sooo right!!
I can't understand this whole "Boylemania" thing people have got going on. I mean her performance on America's got Talent was ok but she's nothing special. I'm sure we've all seen many awesome things on America's got Talent so why is she getting all this hype?!
Wake up all you Boylemaniacs! Ever heard the word overrated?
Plus the fact when she speaks I can't understand because of her heavy scottish accent they had to have subtitles on the Oprah Winfrey Show so we Americans could understand her.Not dissing scottish people btw but I know people in Scotland and I can undertsand them perfectly.
If you ever read this Boyle, you are nothing special and you need a drastic makeover. Plus you are a 48year old virgin(I mean come on!). That is my rant over sooo bye everyone x

Her natural singing is atleast better than all the autotune crap flooding the industry.

She just tried to become the second Paul Potts... but seriously, her attitude, gibberish talking and the going RAMPAGE after losing the audition is totally INSANE!! she doesn't deserve the fame. Anybody saw how rude she was after she lost the bgt??
